Affected is based on the belief that choices never stand alone. Decisions made by parents or caregivers — often out of necessity, care, or hope — ripple through the lives of young people.
Sometimes visible, sometimes in the background. We believe it’s important to focus on those very lasting effects.
In a time when young people grow up with (seemingly) endless possibilities and expectations, that legacy can feel extra heavy. By sharing experiences, space is created for recognition and understanding — for yourself and for each other.
With Affected, we want to bring to light stories that often go unspoken. Not to explain or judge, but to show that feelings of doubt, loss, or confusion aren’t unusual.
The project aims to give young people the feeling that they are not alone in what shapes them, and invites others to look more closely at the impact of their choices.
Affected consists of short films and animations that are part of broader projects, such as exhibitions or educational contexts. The films are intimate and personal in tone, with room for silence and nuance.
Image and sound carry the story — words are only used where they add value.
We create and share Affected because stories have the power to connect us. Because sometimes, just listening is enough to make things feel a little lighter. And because showing vulnerability can create the space to move forward — each at their own pace.
