cinepitch

Cinepitch was born out of a simple frustration.
I have met so many people with a film or series idea that has potential — but that idea gets stuck. In words. In doubt. In “someday.”
At Cinepitch, we do things differently.
For five days at Sanaruska, in France, you will work on one thing:
making your idea visible. Not by talking or writing endlessly, but by making.
‘Some ideas remain words. At Cinepitch, they become images.’
You arrive with an idea for a film or series.
You leave with a short pitch film of 1 to 2 minutes — a visual translation of your story that you can show to others.
Cinepitch is not a course or a traditional program.
It is an intensive, small-scale residency for creators who are ready to make choices and take their ideas seriously.
We work in a small group (maximum of eight participants), with a professional studio and equipment, and with full focus.
Because we live and eat together on-site, it creates a sense of peace, trust, and depth. Everything is taken care of — so you can concentrate on the creative process.
This pitch film is not an end point.
It is a beginning: a way to share, test, and take your idea further.
If you feel your idea deserves more than just words, then Cinepitch is for you.
‘If an idea keeps gnawing at you, it wants to be seen.
Cinepitch is where that starts.’

frequently asked questions

Do I need to have a fully developed script already?
No. A concrete idea is enough. During Cinepitch, you aren’t working toward a full script, but toward a visual pitch of your story.
Is Cinepitch meant for beginners?
Cinepitch is for creators with an idea that wants to go further. You don’t have to be a professional, but you must be willing to make choices and work actively.
Will I be making a complete short film?
No. You will make a pitch film of 1 to 2 minutes. The goal isn’t to finish a project, but to show what your project is about.
Will I work alone or together?
Each participant works on their own idea. At the same time, you help each other during the process and collaborate on set.
Who will act in the pitch film?
That varies per project. Participants can help each other as actors, or we work with simple, available resources. The focus is on the idea, not on perfect casting.
What equipment is used?
You’ll work with professional RED cameras, lighting, and sound in the studio and on location. Everything you need to create a high-quality pitch film is provided.
Is editing included?
Yes. On the last day, you’ll work on editing your pitch film with guidance.
Where does Cinepitch take place?
Cinepitch takes place at Sanaruska in France. The residency is fully catered.
Are accommodation and food included?
Yes. Your stay and all meals are included, so you can focus entirely on creating.
How big is the group?
There is room for a maximum of eight participants. This ensures personal guidance and a peaceful environment.
In which language is Cinepitch taught?
Cinepitch can be held in Dutch or English, depending on the group.
What do I take home?
You’ll leave with a 1–2 minute pitch film and a clear visual direction for your project.
How can I sign up?
You can sign up via a registration form. A brief selection process may take place to ensure the group is a good match.
